A Clarification on the Negotiation Process

The BVU in Unite and it’s pay and conditions claim at Valley Vets is a negotiation position, not an intransigent demand. The employer made only 1 formal offer, which was rejected by the union members, the majority of the workforce.

The employer then refused to negotiate further!

If the employer makes an offer which exceeds the rejected one and our red lines (which naturally we do not reveal but of course remain more modest than our current stance), then because we are democratic we will put the offer to our membership to vote on. If the membership accept the offer by a simple majority, the dispute is over.

As always, the union hopes VetPartners will return to negotiations soon, and end this dispute.
