Are you a member having equality issues in the workplace, or have a concern about the wider profession you’d like support with?

We are here to help. Everything you discuss with the BVU or Unite is completely confidential, and we will do everything we can to help and support you in your time of need. We have changed our procedure for assisting members to enable quicker and more direct support.

Please contact your regional Unite office by telephone or email for workplace issues. Unite’s Regional Officers will always offer advice where possible, but please be advised that Unite is unable to offer legal representation for any members in the first month of joining or regarding pre-existing workplace issues.

You can also copy in our equalities officer Sadie Douglas (), but please do not contact this email directly for workplace support without also contacting your region in unite.

If you are concerned about a wider issue in the sector that relates to Equalities, please contact our equalities team by emailing us with the subject “EQUALITIES”, and we will respond to you within 7 days.

For membership or contract queries you can email the BVU, making sure to include your Unite membership number. Contract or membership queries will be responded to within 5 working days.

Please be advised that all BVU Reps and Committee members volunteer their time alongside full-time work or study commitments.

Once you have received assistance from the BVU in Unite, we would be grateful if you would fill out a feedback form. Feedback helps the BVU to continue supporting members, and shows areas where we can make the process of seeking workplace advice more efficient & effective.

If you know which branch officer or representative you need to contact, you can contact them directly via their Unite email addresses listed here but please be advised all our representatives and branch officers are volunteers who also work full-time in clinical practice, and may take a little longer to reply than enquires through our main email address, or Unite’s centralised contact system.
